I Found Kids Can Recycle The Used Paper By A Simple Approach

We went to two primary schools today, SDK Kristus Raja Surabaya and SDK Santa Theresia I Surabaya, which we have been there before. Since we have already given our presentations to these schools, today we just reviewed it and asked the students to prepare the drama and give use the performance next week. We hope the students will be creative and they can use their body language to perform the causes of air pollution.

We are happy since they remember what we taught them last time and some of them have used the knowledge in their everyday life such as car pool and composting. In SDK Santa Theresia I Surabaya, I found that they can recycle the used paper by a simple approach and I have tried to make a recycle paper. Though the quality is not as good as the new one, they can be used to do draft and we have told them that the key of recycling is not using rather than making.

Some of the activities here deserve the learning of some schools in China since some Chinese primary schools pay more attention to the grade instead of whole person development Therefore, students don’t have a lot of opportunities to join the environmental programme.

We haven’t finished the process of collecting materials for our books since most of the materials we got are not good enough to be put in the book for learning by students and teachers. However, some of the content can reflect children’s understand of the environmental problems. Next step, we will try to select the best assignment and do the exhibition.
